Decaf Tea UK, every decaffeinated blend, every brand.
Decaf tea is real tea with the caffeine removed, not a herbal substitute. The decaffeination process (CO2, water, or ethyl acetate methods, depending on manufacturer) removes 95-99% of the caffeine while leaving the tea's flavour mostly intact. The cup tastes very similar to the caffeinated version, close enough that most drinkers can't tell side by side. Decaf is the right choice for evening drinkers, pregnancy, caffeine sensitivity, or anyone who has been told to cut back. Every major UK brand makes a decaf range; we list every one we stock.

Common questions
Is decaf tea actually caffeine free?
No, decaffeination removes 95-99% of the caffeine, leaving 2-5mg per 200ml cup compared to 40-55mg in the caffeinated version. For comparison, a cup of coffee is 80-100mg. Decaf is not zero, but it is well below the threshold most caffeine sensitive drinkers can detect.
How is tea decaffeinated?
Three methods are used commercially: CO2 (the cleanest, expensive, used by premium brands), water process (no chemicals, slightly more flavour loss), and ethyl acetate (a naturally occurring solvent, sometimes flagged as "natural decaf"). All three are food safe. CO2 generally produces the best tasting cup.
What is the best decaf tea?
Yorkshire Tea Decaf (closest to standard Yorkshire), Twinings Earl Grey Decaf (the only widely available decaf Earl Grey), and Clipper Organic Decaf (organic, ethical sourcing) are all reliable. We stock all three plus several others.
Can you drink decaf during pregnancy?
Yes, UK NHS guidelines say up to 200mg caffeine per day is safe in pregnancy, and a cup of decaf tea is 2-5mg, well within the limit. Several cups per day pose no problem. If avoiding caffeine entirely, switch to caffeine free herbals (chamomile, rooibos, peppermint).
Does decaf tea taste different?
Slightly. The decaffeination process strips a small amount of flavour along with the caffeine. Most drinkers cannot tell side by side, but very sensitive palates notice that decaf tastes a fraction lighter or less brisk. Brewing for an extra 30 seconds usually closes the gap.
