Organic Tea UK, every Soil Association certified tea we stock.
Every tea on this page is certified organic by a recognised body, Soil Association in the UK, EU Organic Farming, USDA, or equivalent. We do not call a tea "organic" because it sounds healthier; we call it organic when there is a certification number on the box. Most of our organic range comes from Pukka (whose entire catalogue is organic by design), Clipper (the British pioneer of organic tea since 1984), Yogi Tea, Dragonfly, and Twinings Organic. Pricing sits roughly 15-30% above conventional equivalents because organic certification carries real cost; we keep markups identical to non organic teas so the premium reflects sourcing not retailer margin.

Common questions
What does "organic" actually mean for a UK tea?
It means the tea has been certified by a recognised body (Soil Association, EU Organic Farming, USDA Organic) under audited standards covering pesticide use, soil management, and processing aids. The certification number is on every box and the auditor can be looked up. "Natural" or "ethically sourced" without a certification body behind them is marketing language and we do not stock teas that use those terms instead of a real certification.
Is organic tea healthier?
For the drinker the difference is small, properly grown conventional tea is also low in pesticide residue. The bigger gain is at origin: organic estates pay workers more on average, use less water intensive practices, and produce healthier soil over time. We stock organic for those reasons rather than for the cup level health claim.
Why is organic tea more expensive?
Organic certification adds 15-30% to a tea's wholesale cost, partly the audit itself, partly the lower yield per hectare. We pass that on at our standard markup, we do not "premium price" organic above the natural cost differential.
Are Pukka teas organic?
Yes, every product Pukka sells is certified organic. Pukka was founded in Bristol in 2002 specifically to bring organic herbal blends to the UK market and the entire range remains organic to this day.
Is Yorkshire Tea organic?
No, the standard Yorkshire Tea range is not organic. Yorkshire Tea is Rainforest Alliance certified, which addresses environmental and worker welfare standards but not the organic farming criteria.
