Worth knowing how this differs from the Teapigs version, which is liquorice-dominant: Pukka flips the balance to 60 percent peppermint, 40 percent liquorice, so here crisp Egyptian mint leads and the root sweetens behind it rather than taking over. That makes it the friendlier of the two if you want the natural sweetness without being clobbered by aniseed, though 40 percent liquorice is still plenty, so it is not for people who actively dislike it. Organic, clean and silky after a rich meal; a sugar-free pudding substitute that still tastes mostly of mint.
