How a tea is decaffeinated decides whether it is worth drinking, and this uses CO2 rather than a chemical solvent, which is why it keeps a genuinely malty Kenya-and-Ceylon body instead of the flat, faintly chemical cup cheaper decaf gives you. Whole leaf in a pyramid helps too. Be fair about it though: the finish is the soft spot, a touch short of the best, so brew it properly strong. As a milk-friendly evening decaf it is one of the few that actually tastes like tea, and 15 bags is the sensible trial.

Preparation: drop one pyramid temple into a 250ml mug at 95 to 100 degrees and steep four to five minutes. The cup is ready within roughly four to five minutes of the kettle. It takes milk well and pairs happily with buttered toast.
