A sharp, properly lemony black tea, and the named Spanish zest is doing real work here, the citrus is bright and clean rather than the dull lemon-barley-water note cheap versions settle for. It hits a full five out of five for lemon intensity, so this is the one for people who want the citrus loud, not subtle. Underneath is a sturdy black tea with enough earthy body to keep it from tasting like flavoured water, and it finishes zesty and clean. We also carry Cotterley Lemon Tea, which is the gentler, maltier take; this Lipton is the punchier, more acidic one in pyramid bags, so pick on how much lemon you actually want. It is excellent over ice with a real lemon wheel, and a thread of honey rounds off the sharpness if you find it austere. Best black; milk and this much citrus do not get along.
