The third lemon black tea on our shelves, and the comparison is the useful thing. All three pair black tea with lemon: the Cotterley is the maltier, gentler everyday cup, the Lipton Spanish Lemons is the sharpest and most acidic, and this Rochambeau sits between them with its calling card being the generous 2g per bag, so it brews fuller and more aromatic than a thin supermarket lemon tea. The lemon here is sharp and tingly with a real fresh-zest aroma off the cup, and the black base is smooth and malty enough to carry it without being bullied. The finish is clean with no metallic tail. It really is versatile: a brisk lemon cup in the morning, and brewed long then chilled it turns into a first rate iced tea, better than most thanks to that fuller dose. Drink it black; lemon and milk do not get on. A honey swirl rounds the sharpness if you want it softer. Forget the fizzy drink comparison; this is a sturdy, generously dosed everyday lemon black tea.

Measure200ml of just boiled water to one bag.
