The recipe

Exact quantities, then the method.

Cold brewing is the way to make the most of Twinings Salted Caramel Green Tea. Steeping the bags in cold water overnight draws out the sweet salted-caramel and green notes with hardly any bitterness, so it comes out clean and naturally sweet, more like an iced dessert tea than a plain green.

You'll need

  • 4 tea bags of Twinings Salted Caramel Green Tea
  • 1 litre cold water
  • A little honey, to taste (optional)
  • Ice and lemon, to serve

Method

  1. Put the 4 bags into a large jug and pour over the cold water.
  2. Cover and refrigerate for 8 to 12 hours, or overnight.
  3. Lift out the bags (no need to squeeze), and stir in a little honey if you want it sweeter.
  4. Serve over ice, with a slice of lemon if you like.
  5. It keeps in the fridge for up to 3 days, and the salted-caramel note deepens a little by day two.
What you'll end up with: A cold-brewed green tea, naturally sweet with a soft salted-caramel note and no bitter edge.
