The recipe

Exact quantities, then the method.

Lemon iced tea more or less makes itself when you cold brew it. Drop the bags of Twinings Lemon Green Tea into cold water, leave it in the fridge overnight, and you wake up to a bright, citrussy jug that never turned bitter the way a hot, over-stewed brew can. Pour it over ice and you are done.

⏱ 5 min plus overnight 🍽 Serves 4 📊 Easy 📚 Cold Brew Tea Recipes

You'll need

  • 4 tea bags of Twinings Lemon Green Tea
  • 1 litre cold water
  • A little honey, to taste (optional)
  • Ice and lemon, to serve

Method

  1. Put the 4 bags into a large jug and pour over the cold water.
  2. Cover and refrigerate for 8 to 12 hours, or overnight.
  3. Lift out the bags (no need to squeeze), and stir in a little honey if you want it sweeter.
  4. Serve over ice with a slice of lemon.
  5. A strip of lemon peel rather than juice added at the end gives more aroma and less acidity; try it in place of the lemon slice.
What you'll end up with: A bright, citrussy cold brew, low on bitterness, exactly what an iced lemon tea should be.
