The recipe

Exact quantities, then the method.

Twinings Pure Fennel is just that: nothing but fennel seed in the bag, which gives a clean, gently sweet aniseed brew with no sugar and no caffeine. Give it a good five minute steep in just-boiled water to draw the sweetness out.

You'll need

  • 1 tea bag of Twinings Pure Fennel
  • 200ml freshly boiled water (100C)
  • A little honey, to taste (optional)

Method

  1. Pop the bag into your favourite cup or mug.
  2. Pour over the freshly boiled water.
  3. Steep for 5 minutes to draw out the fennel seed.
  4. Lift out the bag, add a little honey if you like, and enjoy. No milk needed.

What you'll end up with: A naturally sweet aniseed cup with a soft golden colour, caffeine-free and nice after a meal.
