Jasmine Green Tea Gin and Tonic
A delicate, floral G and T, scented with chilled Twinings Jasmine Green Tea, tonic and a little lemon.

Jasmine and juniper turn out to be good company. Stir a chilled shot of Twinings Jasmine Green Tea into a gin and tonic and the floral note lifts the gin without fighting it, while a little lemon keeps the whole thing from turning soapy. A quiet, scented twist on the usual G and T.

You'll need
- 2 tea bags of Twinings Jasmine Green Tea
- 150ml freshly boiled water, cooled for about a minute (around 80C)
- 50ml gin
- 200ml chilled tonic water
- 1 lemon, half juiced and half sliced
- Plenty of ice
Method
- Let the boiled water stand for about a minute, steep the 2 bags for 3 minutes, then lift them out without squeezing and chill.
- Fill two glasses with ice and divide the chilled tea and gin between them.
- Top with chilled tonic water and add the lemon juice.
- Stir gently, finish with lemon slices, and serve straight away.
- Go easy on the lemon and finish with a strip of grapefruit peel instead; its oils lift the jasmine where too much lemon juice can flatten it.
