Iris Pemberton joins as Head of Trade

Iris joined us last month to run the café and wholesale side of the business. Previously at Brodies of Edinburgh where she ran their independent café programme. The café arm grew 40% in her first eight weeks. She has very strong opinions about consistency.

Head of Trade owns the wholesale channel: cafés, hotels and offices that buy by the case rather than the box. We now supply 80+ cafés across the South West, and the trade book is the fastest growing part of the business this year.

Brodies of Edinburgh is a family owned Scottish Tea blender that supplies a chunk of UK hospitality, including a long standing independent café programme. Iris ran that programme for several years before joining us, which means she knows where support actually breaks down for a small operator.

The consistency line in her bio is not a throwaway. Wholesale tea fails when the same product brews differently from one delivery to the next: pack fresh dates that drift, blends quietly reformulated by the supplier, brew guides that vary by box. Iris is rewriting our café brew guides and tightening pack date tolerances. Boring on paper, rebookings on the ground.

Trade terms, brew training, and the wholesale catalogue are all under review this quarter. If you run a café, hotel or office tea programme, expect cleaner ordering, tighter delivery windows, and a more honest brew guide booklet on the side of every case.
