Clipper was the first UK brand to launch a Fairtrade tea (1994) and remains synonymous with ethical, unbleached, plastic-free tea bags. Dorset-based and owned since 2012 by Wessanen, now Ecotone, with a comprehensive range covering everyday English Breakfast, organic blends, and herbal infusions.
Clipper is the brand for customers who want all the certifications without paying premium prices. Fairtrade, organic, unbleached and plastic-free: a long credentials list at a supermarket price, and its UK maker, Ecotone UK, is a certified B Corp. The Everyday One is decent everyday black tea. Not the strongest character in any category, but solid, ethical, fairly priced.
