The Pause blend is hibiscus, raspberry, blackberry leaf and a few warming herbs. Hibiscus is the dominant note: tart, cranberry adjacent, bright pink in the cup. It is naturally caffeine free because none of the botanicals come from Camellia sinensis. The raspberry is the flavour bridge that stops the hibiscus tipping into too tart territory.

Pause sits inside Twinings Superblends, the brand's functional tea sub range launched in the late 2010s. Other Superblends include Defence, Energy, Sleep and Probiotic. The category is about positioning rather than reformulation; the underlying herbs have been on tea shelves for thirty years. Twinings put them in a cleaner pack with a more direct name.

Brew it for four minutes with just boiled water. Five if you like it stronger. No milk. Naturally pink in the cup. Drinks well chilled too if you brew strong and ice it. Two bags in a teapot makes a good sharing pot.
