Cake teas are the most googled flavoured tea category in the UK after Earl Grey, and they were a thin novelty until Yorkshire's Biscuit Brew validated the format. Lemon Drizzle Cake, Battenberg, Carrot Cake, Sticky Toffee Pudding: all on shelves now. The format works when the flavour is fronted by a real ingredient (lemon oil, real caramel) rather than a synthetic top note. Tetley's Lemon Drizzle Cake is one of the better ones.

The blend underneath is Tetley's standard Black Tea (Assam, Kenyan, Rwandan, similar profile to Yorkshire). The lemon flavour comes from a natural lemon oil sprayed onto the leaf at the packing stage, with a touch of lemongrass for the bottom end citrus. Drizzle is implied rather than actual sugar; the cup itself is unsweetened, so add a teaspoon if you want the full Sunday baking effect.

Seasonal teas run on tight production windows. Tetley plans the year's output in November based on previous year sales plus an uplift estimate. Lemon Drizzle Cake overshot the estimate by a meaningful margin and the run is gone. Restock is the standard wait for the next production slot, which Tetley confirms is early June. There is no factory storage on this SKU; they make it to order.
