The recipe

Exact quantities, then the method.

Chilled, well-brewed Yorkshire Gold makes a good base for an alcohol-free long drink. It has enough depth to stand up to citrus and soda, where a lighter tea would just disappear.

Brew it strong, chill it, then build over ice and lengthen with soda.

⏱ 5 min plus cooling 🍽 Serves 1 📊 Easy 📚 Tea Mocktails

You'll need

  • 1 tea bag of Yorkshire Tea Gold Blend
  • 120ml freshly boiled water (100C)
  • 15ml fresh lemon or orange juice
  • 10ml honey syrup (equal parts honey and warm water, stirred until smooth)
  • Chilled soda water to top
  • Ice, an orange slice and mint to serve

Method

  1. Pour the boiled water over the bag and steep for 3 minutes for a strong brew. Lift out the bag and chill the tea.
  2. Fill a wine glass or tumbler with ice and add the cooled tea, citrus juice and honey syrup.
  3. Stir well, then top with chilled soda water.
  4. Garnish with an orange slice and mint, and serve.
  5. Build it in the glass just before serving so the soda keeps its fizz.
What you'll end up with: A tall, fizzing drink with real tea character underneath the orange and soda.
