The recipe

Exact quantities, then the method.

Yogi Tea Organic Detox is a root-and-spice Ayurvedic-style blend, ginger and liquorice with cinnamon and black pepper. Brewed five minutes, it gives a caffeine-free, deep golden cup with a warming ginger bite, a natural liquorice sweetness and a gentle peppery lift. Good as it is, or softened with a splash of milk into something chai-like.

⏱ 6 min 🍽 Makes 1 mug 📊 Easy 📚 Ginger Tea Recipes

You'll need

  • 1 tea bag of Yogi Tea Organic Detox
  • 300ml freshly boiled water (100C)
  • A splash of milk, optional
  • A slice of lemon, optional

Method

  1. Pop the tea bag in a big mug.
  2. Pour over the freshly boiled water and leave to steep for 5 minutes so the ginger, liquorice and spice come through.
  3. Lift out the bag without squeezing it.
  4. Drink as it is for a naturally sweet spiced cup, or add a splash of milk for a softer, chai-like cup.
  5. A slice of lemon also lifts it nicely. Sip warm.
  6. Taste before sweetening; the liquorice gives real natural sweetness, and honey can tip it sweeter than the blend intends.
What you'll end up with: A warming, caffeine-free golden cup, gingery and naturally sweet with a gentle peppery edge.
