A Bright Cup of Mango and Passionfruit

A clean, tropical cup of mango and passionfruit tea, brewed for three minutes and lifted with a slice of fresh lime.

A Bright Cup Of Mango And Passionfruit

This is a clean, tropical fruit tea that brews simply: boiling water, three minutes, and that is really it. The only tweak worth making is a thin slice of fresh lime dropped in at the end, which sharpens the mango and passionfruit and stops the cup tasting flat.

Keep the steep to three minutes so it stays bright rather than stewed. Makes one mug.

You'll need

  • 1 tea bag of Lipton Mango and Passionfruit
  • 250ml freshly drawn water at 100C, just off the boil
  • 1 thin slice of fresh lime
  • 1 250ml mug, warmed
  • 1 saucer for covering during steep

Method

  1. Warm a mug and pour in 250ml of freshly boiled water.
  2. Drop in the tea bag, cover with a saucer and steep for three minutes.
  3. Lift the bag out without squeezing it hard.
  4. Drop in a thin slice of fresh lime and drink.
  5. Keep the steep to three minutes; longer and the fruit flavour turns flat and slightly stewed.
What you'll end up with: A bright, clear, tropical cup with mango and passionfruit up front and a clean lime edge. Light, fruity and naturally sweet.
