The recipe

Exact quantities, then the method.

For Twinings Pure Green Decaf, the kindest method is no heat at all. Leave the bags in cold water in the fridge overnight and the leaf gives up its flavour slowly, so you get a soft, naturally sweet Green Tea with hardly any of the bitterness or grip that hot brewing can bring. Being caffeine-free, it makes an easy jug to keep on hand and pour whenever you fancy a glass.

⏱ 5 min plus overnight 🍽 Serves 4 📊 Easy 📚 Cold Brew Tea Recipes

You'll need

  • 4 tea bags of Twinings Pure Green Decaf Tea
  • 1 litre cold water
  • A little honey, to taste (optional)
  • Ice and lemon, to serve

Method

  1. Put the 4 bags into a large jug and pour over the cold water.
  2. Cover and refrigerate for 8 to 12 hours, or overnight.
  3. Lift out the bags (no need to squeeze), and stir in a little honey if you want it sweeter.
  4. Serve over ice, with a slice of lemon if you like.
  5. Cold-brewed decaf green tea keeps well for up to 4 days in the fridge; add fresh lemon slices when serving to refresh it.
What you'll end up with: A mellow, gently sweet cold-brewed green tea, light on bitterness and free of caffeine, poured straight from the jug over ice.
