The recipe

Exact quantities, then the method.

If you want Green Tea with hardly any caffeine, this is the one: a cold brew made from decaf leaf, giving you the smooth, sweet character of a slow cold steep with only the trace of caffeine decaf leaf still carries. Cold water and time pull out the gentle flavours and leave any harshness behind.

⏱ 5 min plus 4 to 8 hours chilling 🍽 Serves 1 📊 Easy 📚 Cold Brew Tea Recipes

You'll need

  • 1 tea bag of Tetley Decaf Pure Green Tea
  • 250ml cold, fresh water
  • A lidded glass or small jug
  • Optional: a slice of lemon or cucumber, or a sprig of mint

Method

  1. Put one decaf green bag into 250ml of cold water in a lidded glass or jug, with no hot water at all.
  2. Cover and leave in the fridge for four to eight hours, or overnight.
  3. Lift the bag out; the cold steep gives you the sweetness without the bitterness.
  4. Serve over ice with lemon, cucumber or mint, and finish within a day.
What you'll end up with: A smooth, sweet, completely caffeine-free green cold brew, gentle enough for the very end of the day.
