Exact quantities, then the method.
The classic way with Twinings Vanilla Black Tea is a straightforward cup with a warm, sweet vanilla note running through a smooth black base. A splash of milk turns it gently creamy and comforting, and it needs little or no sugar.

You'll need
- 1 tea bag of Twinings Vanilla Flavoured Black Tea
- 250ml freshly boiled water (100C)
- A splash of milk
- Sugar or honey, optional, to taste
Method
- Pop the tea bag in your favourite mug.
- Pour over the freshly boiled water and leave to steep for 3 to 4 minutes.
- Lift out the bag without over-steeping, so the vanilla stays smooth.
- Add a splash of milk to bring out the creamy vanilla note, and a little sugar or honey only if you like.
- Stir and enjoy a comforting, vanilla-scented cup.
- Use whole milk, not semi-skimmed; the fat amplifies the vanilla and makes the cup creamy rather than just smooth.
