The Extra Strong Builder Brew of Tetley Extra Strong Breakfast
For those who like it dark and strong: a long steeped, deep, malty extra strong builder brew that stands up to milk.

The Extra Strong Builder Brew is for anyone who likes their tea dark, deep and properly strong. Tetley Extra Strong Breakfast is blended to take a long steep without turning harsh, so it gives a robust, malty, no nonsense mug that stands up to a generous splash of milk.

Serves one. Use full boiling water and steep it longer than a standard tea, four to five minutes or more, then add milk to taste.
You'll need
- 1 tea bag of Tetley Extra Strong Breakfast Tea
- 200ml freshly boiled water (100C)
- A generous splash of milk
- Sugar to taste (optional)
Method
- Boil fresh water and pour it over the bag at a full 100C.
- Steep for 4 to 5 minutes, or longer, for a deep, extra strong brew. This tea is built to take a long steep without turning harsh.
- Press the bag firmly against the side of the mug and lift it out.
- Add a generous splash of milk, and sugar to taste. This strong tea carries milk well.
- Warm the milk a little before adding; a cold splash chills a strong builder brew and dulls the malt.
