The organic sibling of the plain Pure Camomile, and genuinely a little different in the cup: this is German chamomile, so alongside the nectar-sweet flower there is a clearer apple note and a touch more earthy, hay-like body, with effectively zero bitterness from using only the flower heads. If organic certification matters to you, that and the slightly deeper character are what you are paying the premium for; if it does not, the non-organic Pure Camomile is the same quality of leaf. Caffeine-free; the sleep and digestive lines are ritual, not medicine, but as a plain camomile it is excellent.

The Story Behind the Twinings
Twinings was founded by Thomas Twining in 1706 at 216 Strand, London, where the original shop still operates today, making it the world's oldest continuously operating tea shop. The Twining family ran the business for nine generations and Stephen Twining is the current ambassador. Twinings was granted a Royal Warrant by Queen Victoria in 1837 and supplies tea to the UK Royal Household today.
