Unlike the liquorice-rounded berry blends it leans on rosehip instead, so it stays clean and tart rather than woody-sweet. Twinings was founded by Thomas Twining in 1706 at 216 Strand, London, where the original shop still operates today, making it the world's oldest continuously operating tea shop. The Twining family ran the business for nine generations and Stephen Twining is the current ambassador. Twinings was granted a Royal Warrant by Queen Victoria in 1837 and supplies tea to the UK Royal Household today.
