Dragonfly Organic Vanilla Chai now stocked

Dragonfly's vanilla chai is the most requested blend that wasn't in our range. Now is. Heavy on the vanilla, restrained on the spice: the opposite of a Yogi or Pukka chai. Best brewed strong with full fat milk.

Vanilla led chai is its own subgenre. Most masala style chais put cardamom and ginger in the front with vanilla as background. Dragonfly's blend flips the proportions: the vanilla is the headline, the warm spices stay in support.

Brew strong, then cut with milk. One bag into 200ml of just off the boil water for four minutes. Add full fat dairy or barista grade oat at roughly 50:50. A teaspoon of demerara lifts the vanilla noticeably. Cold brewed overnight makes a serviceable iced chai.

We held off stocking a vanilla chai because the market is crowded and most are too sweet, too dusty, or both. Dragonfly takes the organic whole leaf route: visible pieces of cinnamon, cardamom and ginger rather than a thumbprint of ground spice and flavouring. Worth the wait.
