The Standard Cup (Tropical Sun Moringa)

Tropical Sun Moringa brewed at around 80C, pale green and grassy with a green tea character. No caffeine, so it suits any hour.

The Standard Cup (Tropical Sun Moringa)

Tropical Sun Moringa is pure dried moringa leaf, nothing else, so it brews up pale green and tastes more like a light Green Tea than a fruity herbal: soft, grassy and faintly vegetal. Like green tea, it prefers water just off the boil; full temperature water tips it towards bitterness. Caffeine free, and best drunk fresh.

⏱ 5 min 🍽 Makes 1 mug 📊 Easy 📚 Green Tea Recipes

You'll need

  • 1 tea bag of Tropical Sun Moringa
  • 250ml just boiled water, cooled for a minute (about 80C)
  • Honey, optional, to taste
  • A slice of lemon, optional

Method

  1. Boil the kettle, then let it stand for a minute so the water drops to around 80C, which keeps moringa smooth rather than bitter.
  2. Pop the moringa bag in your mug and pour over the slightly cooled water.
  3. Leave to steep for 3 minutes, then lift out the bag without squeezing it.
  4. Taste, and add a little honey or a slice of lemon if you like.
  5. Sip while it is fresh and green.
  6. Steep in a glass to watch the colour; moringa turns the water soft green within 90 seconds.
What you'll end up with: A pale green, caffeine free cup with a soft, grassy, green tea like character.
