Seventeen ingredients sounds chaotic but it resolves into something legible: acerola cherry and hibiscus give a bright, tart berry zing up front, peppermint and lemongrass keep it cool and fresh through the middle, and ashwagandha root with liquorice sits underneath as a warming, slightly earthy-sweet base. The finish is clean with no dusty bitterness. Two things are worth weighing: the tartness, which makes this a lively, almost cranberry sharp cup rather than a soft, comforting one, and the liquorice and ashwagandha base, with its distinctive rooty sweetness that some people love and others do not. Within the Yogi range it is the fruit-tart one against the spiced Turmeric Chai and the leafy Alkaline Herbs. Caffeine-free, good iced where the berry really pops, a honey swirl rounds the sharpness. Drink it for the bright, unusual taste, not for the adaptogen wording on the box.
