Vanilla Cream Soda Spritz Mocktail (Twinings Vanilla Black Tea)

Chilled vanilla black tea with sugar and soda, a homemade, alcohol free take on old fashioned cream soda.

Vanilla Cream Soda Spritz Mocktail (Twinings Vanilla Black Tea)

This turns chilled Twinings Vanilla Black Tea into a homemade cream soda: the smooth vanilla note with a little sugar and a splash of soda tastes much like the old fashioned bottled kind. Float a little milk on top and you have the look as well as the taste, all without alcohol.

⏱ 10 min plus chilling 🍽 Makes 2 glasses 📊 Easy 📚 Tea Mocktails

You'll need

  • 3 tea bags of Twinings Vanilla Flavoured Black Tea
  • 300ml freshly boiled water (100C)
  • 1 tablespoon sugar or honey, or to taste
  • 200ml chilled soda water
  • A splash of milk, optional
  • Plenty of ice

Method

  1. Steep the 3 tea bags in the boiled water for 4 minutes, then lift them out.
  2. Stir in the sugar while warm so it dissolves, then leave to cool and chill well.
  3. Fill two tall glasses with ice and divide the chilled vanilla tea between them.
  4. Top each with chilled soda water and stir gently.
  5. Float a little milk on top for a cream soda look, and serve straight away.
  6. Pour the floating milk slowly over the back of a spoon to keep it a white layer; that cream soda look is most of the effect.
What you'll end up with: A nostalgic, alcohol free cream soda where vanilla black tea stands in for the syrup, with a milk float on top.
