Tropical Sun Tulsi is pure holy basil leaf, and it tastes more like culinary basil than any sweet European herbal: savoury and aromatic, with a gentle clove-and-anise warmth running through it. Caffeine-free and quietly distinctive, it is a cup with genuine character that takes well to honey or lemon.

You'll need
- 1 tea bag of Tropical Sun Tulsi
- 250ml freshly boiled water (100C)
- Honey, optional, to taste
- A slice of lemon, optional
Method
- Pop the tulsi bag in your favourite mug.
- Pour over the freshly boiled water and leave to steep for 5 minutes so the basil aroma comes through.
- Lift out the bag without squeezing it.
- Taste, and add a little honey or a slice of lemon, both of which suit the savoury basil note.
- Sip warm and enjoy the aromatic, herbal cup.
- Tulsi divides first-time tasters; its savoury, basil-like note surprises people, so try a second cup.
