The recipe

Exact quantities, then the method.

A litre of Twinings Pure Green Tea left to steep cold overnight gives you a jug of soft, lightly sweet Green Tea to keep in the fridge all week. Cold water pulls out the flavour without the bitterness hot brewing can bring, so it is good straight over ice, with lemon, or blitzed into a morning smoothie.

⏱ 5 min plus overnight 🍽 Serves 4 📊 Easy 📚 Cold Brew Tea Recipes

You'll need

  • 4 tea bags of Twinings Pure Green Tea
  • 1 litre cold water
  • A little honey, to taste (optional)
  • Ice and lemon, to serve

Method

  1. Put the 4 bags into a large jug and pour over the cold water.
  2. Cover and refrigerate for 8 to 12 hours, or overnight.
  3. Lift out the bags (no need to squeeze), and stir in a little honey if you want it sweeter.
  4. Serve over ice, with a slice of lemon if you like.
  5. Cold-brewed pure green tea makes an excellent smoothie base; blend straight from the fridge with banana and a little honey.
What you'll end up with: A gentle, lightly sweet cold brew with no bitter edge, as happy over ice as it is blended into a smoothie.
