Green Tea Gin and Tonic
Green tea folded into a G and T: a chilled shot of Twinings Pure Green Decaf with tonic and lemon.

A splash of chilled Twinings Pure Green Decaf turns an ordinary gin and tonic into something more interesting, lending a soft, grassy note that sits comfortably alongside the juniper and citrus of the gin. As the tea is caffeine free, it makes a sound choice after dinner.

You'll need
- 2 tea bags of Twinings Pure Green Decaf Tea
- 150ml freshly boiled water, cooled for about a minute (around 80C)
- 50ml gin
- 200ml chilled tonic water
- 1 lemon, half juiced and half sliced
- Plenty of ice
Method
- Let the boiled water stand for about a minute, steep the 2 bags for 3 minutes, then lift them out without squeezing and chill.
- Fill two glasses with ice and divide the chilled tea and gin between them.
- Top with chilled tonic water and add the lemon juice.
- Stir gently, finish with lemon slices, and serve straight away.
- Serve it in a wine glass rather than a tumbler: the wider bowl lets the gin botanicals open up.
