Green Tea Gin and Tonic
teas.co.uk · 10 min plus chilling · Makes 2 glasses
You'll need
- 2 tea bags of Twinings Pure Green Decaf Tea
- 150ml freshly boiled water, cooled to around 80C (check with a thermometer)
- 50ml gin
- 200ml chilled tonic water
- 1 lemon, half juiced and half sliced
- Plenty of ice
Method
- For this gin and tonic, rest the boiled water about a minute, give 2 bags of green tea 3 minutes in it, then lift them out unsqueezed and chill.
- Two glasses, both full of ice, take equal shares of the cold green tea and the gin.
- Top with chilled tonic water and add the lemon juice.
- A gentle stir, lemon slices on top, and the green tea gin is ready to serve.
- Serve it in a wine glass rather than a tumbler: the wider bowl lets the gin botanicals open up.
