Nescafe Peppermint Aero Mocha, 7 x 19g Sachets
Aero on the front of a Nescafé box is not a licensing deal; both names belong to the same company, so the pairing costs nothing and proves nothing. The mint is what decides this one. There is a narrow line between confectionery mint and medicine-cabinet mint, and this stays on the confectionery side, finishing clean rather than coated, which is why it holds up late in the evening where a plain hot chocolate would sit too heavily. The coffee is a background instrument rather than the tune, so nobody buying it for a proper coffee will be satisfied. Milk is in the powder, which rules out dairy-free households and anyone with a milk allergy. Seven sachets, one mug each; the nineteen grams on the front is one sachet, not the carton.
Nescafe Peppermint Aero Mocha, in brief.
Nescafé Peppermint Aero Mocha is the sachet version of the peppermint-and-milk-chocolate pairing the Aero bar made familiar, picked into the Teas.co.uk curator selection as the after-dinner mug for people who find a plain hot chocolate too heavy and a full coffee too much at that hour.
Seven single-serve sachets, one mug each, milk powder already in the sachet so the box needs no fridge and travels flat. Sweetened as part of the recipe, so treat it as a flavoured chocolate drink with coffee in it rather than as a coffee. Being a milk drink, it is not dairy-free.
Nescafé Peppermint Aero Mocha is a single-serve mocha built around the peppermint-and-chocolate pairing the Aero bar made familiar. It behaves like a hot chocolate that happens to contain coffee rather than a coffee that happens to be sweet, and knowing that before you open the box is the difference between being pleased with it and being disappointed by it.
Seven sachets to the pack, one mug each, made up with hot water and nothing else. It belongs to the second half of the day rather than the first: the mug you make at four in the afternoon, or after dinner when a full pot of coffee would be too much and a plain hot chocolate would be too plain.

The Story Behind Nescafé and Aero
Nescafé is Nestlé's instant coffee name and Aero is a Nestlé chocolate name, which is why the two appear on the same box without any licensing arrangement between separate companies. The flavoured sachet range exists because instant coffee on its own is a mature, slow-growing category, while flavoured hot drinks are not, and borrowing a chocolate bar people already recognise is a faster route to a new drink than inventing a flavour from nothing.
That is a marketing observation rather than a criticism. The peppermint-and-milk-chocolate pairing works in a mug for the same reason it works in a bar: mint is volatile and lifts off the surface, chocolate is heavy and stays in the body, and the two occupy different parts of the palate instead of fighting.
Packaging: Follow the current UK pack and local-authority guidance; components can require different disposal routes.
What You Are Actually Buying
- Count: seven single-serve sachets, one mug each, so seven mochas from the box.
- Pack weight: 19g is the weight of one sachet, not of the box. Seven of them comes to 133g, and that is the figure used on this page. If a shelf edge or a comparison site shows 19g as the pack weight, that is the sachet weight, not the box.
- Made with water: the milk component is already in the sachet in powder form, which is why the box needs no fridge and travels flat in a bag. It also means this is not a dairy-free drink.
- Sweetened: the sugar is part of the recipe. There is no way to make this a plain mocha, so treat it as a flavoured drink from the start.
Ideal Serving Conditions
Peppermint is the most fragile thing in the sachet. The compounds that give it its lift are volatile, which is why a mint drink smells strongest the moment it is poured and flattens if it stands. Chocolate, by contrast, wants heat to come forward. Getting both at once is mostly a question of how you handle the water and how long you leave it.
The Proper Mug
- Measure: one sachet to 180 to 200ml. Push past 200ml and the chocolate thins out before the mint does, which leaves the cup smelling right and tasting weak.
- Water: let the kettle stand for about a minute after it clicks. Water at a rolling boil gives powdered milk a cooked, faintly tinny edge that the mint makes more obvious rather than less.
- Mix: powder into a dry mug first, then a small splash of water to make a paste, then the rest. Cocoa powder clumps if it meets a full mug of water at once.
- Drink it soon: this is not a mug to leave on a desk. Ten minutes in and the mint has largely gone to the air, leaving a sweet chocolate drink behind.
Getting More Out of the Box
- Stronger coffee: half a teaspoon of plain instant stirred into the dry powder pushes the coffee note up without adding sweetness. This is the single most useful adjustment for anyone who finds it too soft.
- Iced: mix one sachet with 60ml of hot water, stir until smooth, then top with cold milk and ice. Mint holds up better cold than most flavours do.
Getting It Right in the Cup
- Water temperature: around 90 degrees Celsius, not straight off the boil.
- Measure: one sachet per 180 to 200ml mug.
- Method: paste first with a splash, then top up, then stir once.
- Storage: keep the sachets sealed and dry in their box. Cocoa and milk powder both take up moisture, and a split sachet in a damp cupboard sets hard.
- Travelling: the whole argument for the format. No jar, no milk, no fridge, seven mugs flat in a bag.
- Best with: an after-dinner mug, a cold afternoon, a chocolate biscuit if you want to double down, or nothing at all, which is how most people drink it.

The taste profile
How does it compare
Nescafé 7 x Peppermint Aero Mocha is a finished drink straight out of the sachet, but the powder is also a ready-made peppermint chocolate base, which makes it more useful than the instructions on the box suggest. Five builds below cover the proper mug, a stronger coffee version, an iced one, an affogato and a pudding made on milk.
Made with this tea
The Proper Mug
How to make The Proper Mug with Nescafé Peppermint Aero Mocha.
- 1 sachet Nescafé Peppermint Aero Mocha
- 180ml water at about 90 degrees Celsius
- Boil the kettle and let it stand for a minute, so you are not pouring at a rolling boil.
- Empty the sachet into a dry mug and add a splash of the hot water.
- Stir it to a smooth paste before you top up. This is the step that removes the lumps.
- Top up to 180ml, stir once, and drink it while the mint is still on the surface.
What you'll end up with: A smooth peppermint chocolate mug with a clean, cooling finish. If it tastes flat, it stood too long; if it tastes gritty, it was never pasted.
The Grown-Up Version
How to make The Grown-Up Version with Nescafé Peppermint Aero Mocha.
- 1 sachet Nescafé Peppermint Aero Mocha
- Half a teaspoon of plain instant coffee
- 180ml water at about 90 degrees Celsius
- Tip the sachet into a dry mug and add the half teaspoon of plain instant coffee on top of the powder.
- Paste both together with a splash of hot water.
- Top up to 180ml and stir once.
What you'll end up with: The same drink with the coffee moved from the background to the middle, and no extra sweetness. This is the fix for anyone who finds the standard mug too soft.
Iced Peppermint Mocha
How to make Iced Peppermint Mocha with Nescafé Peppermint Aero Mocha.
- 1 sachet Nescafé Peppermint Aero Mocha
- 60ml hot water
- 150ml cold milk or a plant alternative
- A glass of ice
- Dissolve the sachet completely in 60ml of hot water. Completely is the important word; cold milk will not rescue an undissolved lump.
- Fill a tall glass with ice and pour the cold milk over it.
- Pour the warm concentrate down the inside of the glass and stir once.
What you'll end up with: A cold mint chocolate coffee that holds its flavour far better than caramel or hazelnut sachets do cold, because the cooling note does not depend on heat to register.
Peppermint Affogato
How to make Peppermint Affogato with Nescafé Peppermint Aero Mocha.
- 1 sachet Nescafé Peppermint Aero Mocha
- 100ml hot water
- 1 scoop vanilla ice cream
- Make the sachet short and thick with only 100ml of water, pasting first as usual.
- Put a scoop of vanilla ice cream in a small bowl or a heavy glass.
- Pour the hot mocha straight over it and serve immediately.
What you'll end up with: A two-minute after-dinner pudding. The cold vanilla holds the mint in place instead of letting it evaporate, so the flavour lasts longer than it does in a mug.
Made on Hot Milk, for the Evening
How to make Made on Hot Milk, for the Evening with Nescafé Peppermint Aero Mocha.
- 1 sachet Nescafé Peppermint Aero Mocha
- 200ml whole milk
- A little grated dark chocolate, optional
- Heat the milk gently until steaming, not boiling.
- Paste the sachet with two tablespoons of the hot milk in the mug first.
- Pour in the rest and stir through.
- Grate a little dark chocolate over the top if you want the cocoa bitterness back.
What you'll end up with: A heavier, quieter version for late in the evening. The milk mutes the mint, so add the dark chocolate if you want some edge back in it.

| Component | Proportion | What it brings |
|---|---|---|
| Cocoa and chocolate flavour | Printed on the current pack | The body of the drink. Milk-chocolate in register rather than dark, which is what gives the mint something to cut through. |
| Peppermint flavour | Printed on the current pack | The cooling lift. Volatile, so it arrives first, smells strongest on the pour and is the first thing to leave a mug left standing. |
| Milk component (powder) | See current pack | Body and softness, and the reason hot water alone finishes the drink. Also the reason the box is not dairy-free. |
| Instant coffee | See current pack | Depth and a faint roast bitterness underneath. It is what stops the cup reading as plain hot chocolate. |
| Sugar | Part of the recipe | Sweetness, decided at the factory rather than at your table. There is no unsweetened version of this drink. |
| Format | 7 sachets of 19g | One mug each, sealed until used, 133g in the box. No jar, no milk and no fridge. |

Sourcing & blend. Nescafé 7 x Peppermint Aero Mocha is made by Nescafé, Nestlé's instant coffee name, and carries the Aero branding because Aero is a Nestlé confectionery name as well. That shared ownership is why the pairing exists on a single box rather than as a licensing deal between two companies. The drink is built the way the bar is built: a cool, volatile mint over a heavy milk-chocolate base, with a coffee component underneath doing the job a pinch of salt does in a pudding, which is to stop the sweetness running away with the cup.
What's in Nescafé 7 x Peppermint Aero Mocha, and what isn't:
- In: a sweetened chocolate and peppermint mocha powder with a milk component and instant coffee, in single-serve sachets made up with hot water.
- Not dairy-free: the milk component is intrinsic to the drink and is what lets it be made with water alone. Not suitable for a vegan or dairy-free diet, and not a drink for anyone with a milk allergy.
- Not unsweetened: the sugar is in the recipe. Dilution softens it; nothing removes it.
- Packaging: follow the current UK pack and your local-authority guidance; the outer carton and the sachet film usually take different disposal routes.
