Most chocolate biscuit bars wear their chocolate on the outside, which is why they mark fingers and wrappers, whereas B-ready tucks it inside a plain wafer shell. That single reversal makes it the Nutella format for a bag, a desk or a long car trip.
A chocolate bar built the other way round
Think of a typical coated biscuit bar: a firm centre with chocolate poured over it. The softest, most heat-sensitive part is on the surface, so it rubs off on whatever it touches. B-ready swaps the order. The chocolate hazelnut filling is the middle of the bar and the outside is a thin, dry wafer carrying no coating at all, so the part in your fingers is the part that cannot smear.
The reversal changes how it eats as well as how it travels. Crispness comes first rather than richness, and the filling only arrives once the shell gives way, which is why it reads as a snack more than a confection even though the centre is the very sweet spread everyone knows from the jar. Nutella took the B-ready format into UK biscuits in 2017, two years after it first appeared.
Warm bags, open wrappers and the fridge
Warmth is less of a worry than you might expect. With nothing coating the outside, a warm day softens the filling within its shell instead of pushing chocolate onto the wrapper, so these cope with a handbag or a rucksack better than most chocolate bars. They are still happiest somewhere cool, and a bar that has sat through a heatwave will eat softer than one kept in a cupboard.
Damp is the real threat, and it can only reach the shell after you have opened the bar. Thin, dry wafer pulls moisture from the air quickly, so a bar opened and then abandoned for an hour loses the contrast between crisp shell and soft middle. The fridge is no help either: cold stiffens the filling, mutes its aroma and lets condensation settle on the wafer as soon as it comes back out.
Who it suits and where to leave it at home
Six bars of 22g each make this a pack to ration across a week, one at the desk mid-afternoon and one in the bag for the train. A single bar satisfies a craving for the spread without a jar, a knife or a slice of toast. B-ready is the light, wafer side of the range; Nutella Biscuits, a crunchy biscuit with a Nutella centre, come in a tube or a 20-piece bag.
Hazelnut is in the product's name, so treat every bar as a nut product. That rules it out for any school or workplace that keeps nuts off the premises, and it is worth a check before a bar goes into somebody else's lunchbox. For the full ingredient and allergen declaration, read the current pack in your hand, which is always the final word.

FAQ
How many bars are in the pack? Six individually wrapped bars of 22g each, 132g in all.
Does Nutella B-ready melt in a warm bag? Not in the messy way a coated bar does. There is no chocolate on the outside, so warmth softens the filling inside the shell instead of smearing it onto the wrapper.
Should I keep B-ready in the fridge? No. Cold firms the filling and dulls its aroma, and condensation softens the wafer once the bar comes out.
Can a B-ready bar go in a school lunchbox? Only where nuts are allowed. Hazelnut is named in the product itself, so check the school's policy first.
How is B-ready different from Nutella Biscuits? B-ready hides the filling inside a light wafer shell, while Nutella Biscuits are a crunchy biscuit with a Nutella centre, sold in a tube or a 20-piece bag.
Curator's note: Keep one in the bag for the moment you want Nutella and there is no toast in sight. Open it when you mean to eat it, not before. Lee, teas.co.uk, Tunbridge Wells.
