Lemon balm (Melissa officinalis) is a perennial herb native to the Mediterranean and Middle East. The leaves smell distinctly of lemon when crushed; the flavour combines mint family freshness with citrus brightness. Anxiety reduction (modest evidence)

Several controlled trials suggest lemon balm modestly reduces:
