Gingerbread Green Tea Gin and Tonic

A winter G and T, spiced with chilled Twinings Gingerbread Green Tea, tonic and lemon.

Gingerbread Green Tea Gin And Tonic

For a cold weather gin and tonic, drop in a chilled shot of Twinings Gingerbread Green Tea. The cinnamon and ginger spice winds through the juniper while the lemon keeps it from turning sweet, so you end up with a G and T that drinks like winter. Add a cinnamon stick to stir and you are set.

⏱ 10 min plus chilling 🍽 Makes 2 glasses 📊 Easy 📚 Tea Cocktails (Adults Only)

You'll need

  • 2 tea bags of Twinings Gingerbread Green Tea
  • 150ml freshly boiled water, cooled for about a minute (around 80C)
  • 50ml gin
  • 200ml chilled tonic water
  • 1 lemon, half juiced and half sliced
  • A cinnamon stick, to garnish (optional)
  • Plenty of ice

Method

  1. Let the boiled water stand for about a minute, steep the 2 bags for 3 minutes, then lift them out without squeezing and chill.
  2. Fill two glasses with ice and divide the chilled tea and gin between them.
  3. Top with chilled tonic water and add the lemon juice.
  4. Stir gently, finish with lemon slices and a cinnamon stick, and serve straight away.
  5. A warming spice gin already containing cinnamon or cardamom makes this extra festive without needing any extra ingredients.
What you'll end up with: A spiced, wintry G and T with gingerbread warmth threading through the gin and a clean lemon edge.
