Where the plain Ginger Green is fresh and savoury, this is the dessert version: treacle and golden syrup turn the ginger into an actual gingerbread, all baked-cake aroma and biscuity sweetness, with the green tea well in the background. A festive sweet-tooth treat rather than an everyday cup, and best judged as one. There is real green tea in it, so it does carry caffeine; brew it off the boil so it does not sharpen under the sweetness. Genuinely Christmassy and well done for what it is.

The Story Behind the Twinings
Twinings was founded by Thomas Twining in 1706 at 216 Strand, London, where the original shop still operates today, making it the world's oldest continuously operating tea shop. The Twining family ran the business for nine generations and Stephen Twining is the current ambassador. Twinings was granted a Royal Warrant by Queen Victoria in 1837 and supplies tea to the UK Royal Household today.
