A Matcha Style Whisked Cup of Everyday Green Tea
Snip the bag and whisk the leaf into 80C water for a frothy, matcha style green cup, no matcha required.

You can get close to Matcha without buying it, just by whisking the leaf instead of steeping it. Snip open a green teabag, tip the fine leaf into the water and whisk it up, and you get a vivid green cup you drink leaf and all.

Keep the water at 80C and use a small whisk or a milk frother. The cup will be a little cloudy, which is simply the leaf in suspension.
You'll need
- 1 tea bag of True English Tea Everyday Green Tea
- 150ml just off boil water cooled to about 80C (boil, then rest the kettle for roughly 90 seconds)
- A small whisk or milk frother
- Optional: a little honey, or warm milk for a latte
Method
- Snip open the tea bag and tip the fine green leaf into a wide cup or bowl.
- Add a splash of the 80C water and whisk to a paste, then pour in the rest and whisk briskly until it foams.
- Whisking the loose leaf gives a fuller, greener cup than steeping a bag would.
- Sweeten with a little honey, or top with warm frothed milk for a green latte.
- A bamboo whisk or a small milk frother works best; a fork will do at a push.
