Iced Berry And Lemon Pitcher (Twinings Defence)

Twinings Defence makes a great-looking iced tea: chilled, it pours a deep ruby red, and the elderberry and blackcurrant turn into a tart, fruity jug that a squeeze of lemon brightens up. No caffeine, so drink it all day.

Makes a jug for four. Brew it strong, chill it down, then pour long over ice with lemon and a few berries.

⏱ 10 min plus chilling 🍽 Serves 4 📊 Easy 📚 Iced Tea Recipes

You'll need

  • 4 tea bags of Twinings Defence
  • 800ml freshly boiled water (100C)
  • 2 tablespoons honey (optional)
  • 1 lemon, half juiced and half sliced
  • A handful of fresh or frozen berries
  • Plenty of ice

Method

  1. Brew strong: steep the 4 bags in the boiled water for 6 minutes, then lift them out.
  2. Stir in the honey while warm if using, then leave to cool and chill.
  3. Pour the chilled tea into a large jug and add the lemon juice.
  4. Add the lemon slices and berries, top with plenty of ice, and serve in tall glasses.
  5. Drop in a handful of frozen berries instead of some ice for colour and flavour.
What you'll end up with: A long, deep-red glass of berry tea with a sharp lemon edge, fruity and easy to drink.
