The recipe

Exact quantities, then the method.

Instant Ginger is the no-faff option: a sachet that dissolves straight into hot water, no bag and no steeping. Stir it in and you have a quick, gently sweet ginger drink with a real hit of heat in under a minute. It comes already sweetened, so taste it before reaching for anything else.

You'll need

  • 1 sachet of Tropical Sun Instant Ginger
  • 200ml hot water (just off the boil)
  • A slice of lemon, to taste (optional)

Method

  1. Tip the sachet into your cup or mug.
  2. Pour over the hot water.
  3. Stir until fully dissolved, about 20 seconds.
  4. Add a slice of lemon if you like, and drink straight away.
  5. Being instant, it dissolves well in water at 90C rather than a full boil; the ginger heat and sweetness are unchanged.
What you'll end up with: A quick ginger drink with a proper warming heat, sweet enough as it is and ready in moments.
