A Spiced Evening Cup of Yorkshire Tea Bedtime Brew

A decaf black blended with lemon balm, lemongrass, nutmeg and vanilla, for a warm, gently spiced evening cup that still tastes of tea.

A Spiced Evening Cup Of Yorkshire Tea Bedtime Brew

Bedtime Brew is an unusual one: a decaffeinated Black Tea blended with lemon balm, lemongrass, nutmeg and vanilla. That keeps it tasting like a proper cup of tea, with a soft spiced edge, rather than the thin herbal infusion you might expect.

The black base still wants boiling water and a decent steep to bring the nutmeg and vanilla forward. Drink it as it is, or add a little milk for a softer, creamier cup.

You'll need

  • 1 tea bag of Yorkshire Tea Bedtime Brew
  • 200ml freshly boiled water (100C)
  • Optional: a splash of milk, or a little honey

Method

  1. Pour freshly boiled water at a full 100C over the bag. The base can take the heat.
  2. Steep for 4 to 5 minutes to draw out the herbs, nutmeg and vanilla.
  3. Lift out the bag.
  4. Drink it as it is, or add a splash of milk for a softer cup. With no caffeine, it suits the end of the day.
  5. Give it the full five minutes, as the herbal notes come through slowly.
What you'll end up with: A warm, lightly creamy cup with a real tea base under the nutmeg and vanilla, and no caffeine.
