Ideal Serving Conditions

The Hot Mug
- Measure: one sachet to 180 to 200ml. More water than that and the milk thins and the vanilla turns faint and slightly artificial.

- Wet it first: dissolve the sachet in about 50 to 60ml of hot water and stir until completely smooth. This is the step people skip, and skipping it is why an iced latte comes out streaked.
- Build cold: fill a tall glass with ice, add 150ml of cold milk, then pour the warm concentrate down the inside of the glass.
- Do not shortcut: tipping dry powder straight into cold milk will leave lumps however hard you stir.

- Water temperature: around 90 degrees Celsius for the hot mug; a small splash of hot water first for the cold one.
- Measure: one sachet per 180 to 200ml hot, or per 150ml cold milk plus ice.
- Stronger coffee: half a teaspoon of plain instant in the dry powder lifts the coffee without adding sweetness.
- Storage: keep the sachets dry and sealed in their box. Milk powder takes up moisture and a damp sachet never dissolves cleanly again.
- Travelling: the format's real advantage. No jar, no milk, no fridge, eight drinks flat in a bag.

- 50ml hot water
- 150ml cold milk
- A glass of ice
- Dissolve the sachet in 50ml of hot water and stir until completely smooth. Do not skip this.
- Fill a tall glass with ice and pour the cold milk over it.
- Pour the warm concentrate down the inside of the glass and stir once.

- Half a teaspoon of plain instant coffee
- 180ml water at about 90 degrees Celsius
- Tip the sachet into a dry mug and add the plain instant coffee on top of it.
- Pour the water in from a height.
- Stir once and taste before you decide whether to make it a full teaspoon next time.

- 50ml hot water
- 120ml cold milk
- 6 to 8 ice cubes
