The Standard Herbal Collection Cup

A mixed Pukka Herbal Collection pack, where the brew depends on the bag: just off the boil for green and mint, a full boil for berry. A safe middle ground.

The Standard Herbal Collection Cup

The Pukka Herbal Collection is a mixed pack of different blends, so the right brew depends on the bag: green and mint blends want water just off the boil, while berry, fruit and chamomile blends want a full rolling boil. The easy middle ground is to let the water sit 30 seconds off the boil, then steep covered.

You'll need

  • 1 Pukka Organic Herbal Collection tea bag, any flavour
  • 250ml water, boiled then left 30 seconds off the boil
  • A little honey, optional, depending on the bag

Method

  1. Boil fresh water and let it sit 30 seconds; this works as a safe middle ground for the mixed pack so you do not need to look up each blend.
  2. Put the bag in the mug and pour the water over.
  3. Cover and steep 5 minutes for most flavours; berry and chamomile suit 6 minutes, green and mint blends are happiest at 4.
  4. Lift the bag out with a gentle press; do not squeeze hard especially green or mint bags.
  5. Taste before sweetening; some blends are naturally sweet already.
What you'll end up with: A properly brewed cup whatever bag you pull from the mixed pack: not bitter, not thin, the brew adjusted to the blend.
