Iced Lemon Ginger Turmeric
A bright iced lemon, ginger and turmeric: strong brew chilled and soda topped, with a pinch of pepper so the turmeric carries. Easy adult swap.

Iced lemon, ginger and turmeric is a glowing golden drink, bright and gently peppery, and just the thing on a hot day. Brew it strong, chill it, and lengthen it with soda, adding a pinch of black pepper so the turmeric actually carries. Caffeine free as a soft drink, with an easy adult version using gin or vodka.

It uses Good Earth Lemon, Ginger and Turmeric, a caffeine free infusion. Ten minutes plus chilling.
You'll need
- 4 Good Earth Lemon, Ginger and Turmeric tea bags
- 500ml rolling boil water
- 2 tablespoons honey, to taste
- A small pinch of cracked black pepper
- 500ml chilled soda water
- Ice, lemon wheels and mint, to serve; optional 50ml gin or vodka per glass
Method
- Steep the 4 bags in 500ml rolling boil water, covered, for 6 minutes for a strong golden base; turmeric needs heat and time to colour.
- Lift the bags out, stir in the honey while warm, and add a small pinch of cracked black pepper; the pepper helps the turmeric come through once iced.
- Cool to room temperature, then chill until cold.
- Fill tall glasses or a jug with ice and divide the golden base, then top with chilled soda water.
- Garnish with lemon wheels and mint. For an adult long drink, add 50ml gin or vodka to the glass before the soda.
- Caffeine free; the base keeps 3 days in the fridge.
