Darjeeling Grape Spritz Mocktail (Twinings Darjeeling)

Chilled Twinings Darjeeling with white grape juice, lemon and soda, an alcohol free take on sparkling wine.

Darjeeling Grape Spritz Mocktail (Twinings Darjeeling)

Darjeeling carries a natural muscatel grape note, so pairing it with white grape juice is an obvious move: chilled Darjeeling, grape juice, a little lemon and soda come together into something close to a non alcoholic sparkling wine. A proper grown up mocktail, and no booze.

⏱ 10 min plus chilling 🍽 Makes 2 glasses 📊 Easy 📚 Tea Mocktails

You'll need

  • 3 tea bags of Twinings Darjeeling
  • 300ml water, just off the boil (about 95C)
  • 100ml white grape juice, chilled
  • 200ml chilled soda water
  • 1 lemon, half juiced and half sliced
  • Plenty of ice

Method

  1. Steep the 3 Darjeeling bags in the just off boil water for 3 to 4 minutes, then lift them out and leave to cool and chill.
  2. Fill two tall glasses with ice and divide the chilled Darjeeling and the white grape juice between them.
  3. Add the lemon juice and stir gently.
  4. Top each glass with chilled soda water.
  5. Finish with lemon slices and serve straight away.
  6. Use a good, slightly sweet white grape juice; it should feel from the same family as the muscatel Darjeeling, not compete.
What you'll end up with: A sophisticated, alcohol free fizz where the muscatel Darjeeling and white grape read like a glass of sparkling wine.
