Brewing a Big Pot of Typhoo Original Breakfast for a Crowd

How to brew Typhoo Original by the potful for a tea round: one bag and 200ml per mug, four to five minutes, milk on the side.

Brewing A Big Pot Of Typhoo Original Breakfast For A Crowd

The 400-bag pack is built for tea rounds, not single mugs, so this is how to get a consistent pot for a whole table, office or hall. The knack is keeping the ratio right as you scale up, so every cup pours the same strength.

You'll need

  • 4 tea bags of Typhoo Original Breakfast
  • 800ml freshly boiled water (100C)
  • Milk and sugar on the side

Method

  1. Warm a large teapot, add four bags, and pour over 800ml of freshly boiled water at a full 100C.
  2. Brew for 4 to 5 minutes, stirring once, so it pours strong to the last cup.
  3. Pour through a strainer if you like. It makes about four good mugs or six small cups.
  4. Put milk and sugar on the side so everyone takes it their own way.
  5. For a bigger round, add another bag and 200ml of water for each extra mug.
What you'll end up with: A consistent pot for the office or table, every cup the same strength, the catering pack doing what it is for.
