Apple and Pear Green Tea Gin and Tonic
Soft orchard fruit in a dry G and T, chilled Twinings Apple and Pear Green Tea with tonic and lemon.

This one leans autumnal. Drop a chilled shot of Twinings Apple and Pear Green Tea into a gin and tonic and you get soft orchard fruit threading through the juniper, with the green leaf keeping it crisp rather than sweet. Garnish with apple slices and it looks the part on a cooler evening.

You'll need
- 2 tea bags of Twinings Apple and Pear Green Tea
- 150ml freshly boiled water, cooled for about a minute (around 80C)
- 50ml gin
- 200ml chilled tonic water
- 1 lemon, half juiced and half sliced
- A few apple slices, to garnish
- Plenty of ice
Method
- Let the boiled water stand for about a minute, steep the 2 bags for 3 minutes, then lift them out without squeezing and chill.
- Fill two glasses with ice and divide the chilled tea and gin between them.
- Top with chilled tonic water and add the lemon juice.
- Stir gently, finish with lemon and apple slices, and serve straight away.
- An elderflower or apple infused gin suits this best, doubling up the orchard flavours.
