A Cosy Cup of Chocolate Flake Rooibos
A caffeine free rooibos blended with cocoa, brewing into a gently sweet, chocolatey cup that is lovely in the evening.

This is Rooibos blended with Cocoa flakes, so it brews into something closer to a light, drinkable chocolate than a regular tea, and there is no caffeine in it. On its own it is gently sweet and dessert like, which makes it a good one to reach for in the evening.

Brew it for a full five minutes to draw out the cocoa. If you want something richer, a splash of warm milk turns it into a thin, comforting hot chocolate, as rooibos takes milk happily where many teas do not.
You'll need
- 1 pyramid tea bag of Teapigs Chocolate Flake
- 250ml freshly drawn water at 100C, just off the boil
- 1 280ml mug, warmed
- 1 saucer for covering during steep
Method
- Warm your mug and bring the water to a boil.
- Add one pyramid bag and pour over 250ml of just boiled water.
- Cover and steep for a full five minutes to draw out the cocoa.
- Lift out the bag, draining it against the rim.
- Drink it as it is, or add a splash of warm milk for a lighter hot chocolate.
- Tip: no sugar needed, as the cocoa blend is naturally sweet, though a little honey suits it if you have a sweet tooth.
