The recipe

Exact quantities, then the method.

Lemongrass makes a bright, refreshing cup: caffeine-free, lemony and gently grassy, with no need for milk. Just hot water and a few minutes, and it is as good first thing as it is in the afternoon. A slice of lemon is all it really wants.

⏱ 5 min 🍽 Makes 1 mug 📊 Easy 📚 Fruit Tea Recipes

You'll need

  • 1 tea bag of Tropical Sun Lemongrass
  • 250ml freshly boiled water (100C)
  • Honey, optional, to taste
  • A slice of lemon, optional

Method

  1. Pop the lemongrass bag in your favourite mug.
  2. Pour over the freshly boiled water and leave to steep for 4 to 5 minutes.
  3. Lift out the bag without squeezing it, so the cup stays bright rather than dull.
  4. Taste, and add a little honey or a slice of lemon if you like.
  5. Sip hot and enjoy the fresh, lemony lift.
  6. Warm the mug first with a splash of boiling water before steeping; lemongrass is delicate and a cold mug noticeably dulls its bright, citrus character.
What you'll end up with: A bright, caffeine-free cup, lemony and gently grassy, exactly as lemongrass should taste.
