The recipe

Exact quantities, then the method.

The Hot Cup of Tetley Super Fruits Peach and Orange is a caffeine-free fruit infusion with sweet, sun-ripened peach and bright orange over a tangy apple, rosehip and hibiscus base. Brewed properly it reads vivid and juicy rather than flat or sugary.

Serves one. Fruit infusions take a full boil and a longer steep than Black Tea, which is what draws out the peach, orange and the hibiscus tang. Lovely hot, and just as good cooled.

You'll need

  • 1 tea bag of Tetley Super Fruits Peach and Orange
  • 200ml freshly boiled water (100C)
  • Optional: a little honey, or a slice of orange

Method

  1. Pour freshly boiled water at a full 100C over the bag. Fruit infusions take the heat.
  2. Steep for 5 minutes to draw out the peach and orange and the tangy hibiscus.
  3. Give the bag a gentle press and lift it out.
  4. Drink it hot as it is, or add a slice of orange. It is also lovely cooled over ice.
  5. Hibiscus gives a tart edge; if the hot cup tastes sharp, a teaspoon of honey rounds it without masking the fruit.
What you'll end up with: A vivid, zesty, juicy peach-and-orange cup with a bright tangy edge, caffeine-free and good hot or cooled.
