The recipe

Exact quantities, then the method.

This turns Twinings Buttermint into a creamy ice lolly that tastes like mint ice cream. You brew the tea strong so the peppermint and butterscotch come through, sweeten it, then stir in milk and freeze. No caffeine, so the whole family can share.

⏱ 10 min plus freezing 🍽 Makes 4 to 6 lollies 📊 Easy 📚 Frozen Tea Lollies & Pops for Kids

You'll need

  • 4 tea bags of Twinings Buttermint
  • 300ml freshly boiled water (100C)
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 150ml milk or oat milk

Method

  1. Brew very strong: steep the 4 bags in the boiled water for 6 minutes, then lift them out.
  2. Stir the honey into the warm tea until it dissolves, then leave to cool.
  3. Mix in the milk for a creamy finish.
  4. Pour into the lolly moulds, add the sticks, and freeze for at least 4 hours or overnight.
  5. To release, dip the moulds in warm water for a few seconds and pull gently.
  6. For a richer lolly, use full-fat milk or a small splash of single cream in place of some of the milk.
What you'll end up with: A lolly that eats like mint ice cream, with a sweet butterscotch edge, a real treat.
